Forums - Sales - Vita Gamers Buy More Games Than 3DS Gamers (on average)

A lot of the 3DS audience is kids, and a lot of them are cool with picking up a Pokemon or two and that's it. Heck, even adults do that. I know a whole lot of people who finally picked up a 3DS with Pokemon X and Y, and I don't think any of them have bought a single additional game since.

Lol Well I didn't include eShop games. In that case I have 22 3DS games (I am still beaten ) However I do have 13 DS games as well

I have 63 retail Vita games (100+ including PSN) and 13 3DS games (14 including eShop). Maybe i'm part of the problem...

Well fuck me. I didnt even know there was 63 Vita retail games...

I'm sadly only at 41.

The ratio is much much bigger... small example... i own around 30 vita games and only 2 are physical games... everything else is digital

I have 1....and I dont even own a Vita yet

glad to see vita getting some momentum again after being so much ignored. I think also the vita has equally as many games like the 3ds if you count digital. Wikipedia says 906 games by the way

Last official numbers had 10 games per Vita owner. Those who own the Vita buy a lot of games for it.

Considering Vita's extremely low install base compared to the 3ds... Makes sense really

Not really. What doesn't make sense is someone thinking that a lower hardware sales equals to higher purchases per system.

Here is a more interesting fact:

The first 4 most successful 3DS games (of 937 games in the VGC database) combined sold almost 5 million more copies retail than the whole PSV library of 536 games.

Not that hard to understand... The 3ds has a lot of casual audience that buys the system for one or two games, such as if their kid wants to play Pokemon or etc... The Vita on the other hand is full of people that want to buy the games that the vita offers specifically. The 3ds has a much broader audience than the vita and there are many people that buy the system for only a few games such as Pokemon for their kids/esports scene and etc and thats all they are happy with

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Makes sense, since the there aren't very many casual gamers in the Vita crowd, meaning they typically buy more games on average.

Let's also not forget that the Vita has a lot more digital sales. I think it has one of the highest digital:physical sales ratios of any console (Other than the PSP Go, obviously).
