Can anyone describe what pikimin is like please
I'm still waiting on a price cut, and a padless version...
...which I'll buy refurbished.
I'm now filled with determination.

Real-time strategy. You're like an astronaut and there's three of you stranded on an alien planet. You need to collect fruit to survive each day cycle. You use creatures called pikmin to defeat enemies and carry fruit back to your ship. You ingest food each day, so be sure not to run out. The game saves all of your progress from the previous day and there isn't a limit to the number of days you can play, so it's good to go at your own pace. You multitask between the three astronauts on most levels, and defeat bosses and the like. It can be a little overwhelming for newcomers (Pikmin 3 was my first experience with it) but it's really satisfying and a lovely, charming game overall.
Plus, the multiplayer is really amazing and it makes good use of the gamepad (map or touch controls) as well as the motion controls of the wiimote (both are optional though).

If Pikmin doesn´t sell better is because is really hard to explain what is Pikmin, is hard to explain how it feels exploring this wonderfull lands where you are so little, how it makes you care about your little Pikmins, how creative are the puzzles, how epic can be battle a giant boss with your 100 Pikmins, how every kind of pikmin opens new possibilities ons every level, and over all is hard to explain why you should play it, but you must play it.
| Fei-Hung said: I was thinking about dipping into the Wii library and getting Mario Galaxy. I'm really enjoying mario 3D and would love another game like it. I'm not going to get ZombieU. The main reason behind my purchase was I missed platformers, adventure games and Nintendo games. Bayonetta 2 is a bonus. I really enjoyed games on the N64. I had Banjo, Conker, Harvest Moon, Mario, OoT, PD, Donkey Kong, and Lylat Wars. I'm really looking at getting similar games. These are the games that have no equal on any other system. Spent a whole generation without them so the craving is real bad |
You HAVE to get rayman legends then. The bonus of off screen okay is just a plus.

It doesn't help that even the Wii releases of the first two games are hard to find for under $40. And NPC Pikmin 2 was $20 new at launch!
