Nah, with the Wii and the Wii U the best thing someone like me can do is buy it at the end of the gen when all the worth-while games had come out and are dirt cheap to boot.

I still don't understand how people think you can have a padless version? It's so much more than a Kinect equivalent. It's more like having a wii without motion controls.

It's not that hard to think about it, seriously, launch the "Wii Slim/orwhatever" and make the Pad a peripheral, have games like Nintendo Land, the new Kirby, the Bowser mode in Mario Party 10, and the probably 1st person mode on the new Star Fox being GamePad exclusive, that's enough incentive for people to buy one separately, well, some people, that doesn't include me as I detest the thing, and any useless gimmicks Nintendo and its fanboys try to pass out as innovative. 

Also, I would've fucking loved a Wii without motion controls.

I've played both Rayman games, one the ps3 and the other on the ps4. Both games were amazing :)

I'll try the Pikimin demo and see what it's like.

As for not wanting a gamepad, I can see why some people may not find any use for it but it is an awesome piece of kit. You can't really appreciate it until you own it. I've found it better than both, the Kinect and it's features, and the ps4 eye and it's features.

Not linked a vita to the ps4 yet so I can't really say how similar it is. The gamepad has more use than what people give it credit for

I don't necessarily think it's innovative and I agree it was a gimmick to try and match the wii's success.

I bought a pro controller when I purchased the wii u thinking I would use that over the game Pad. I never use it, but I love games like the wonderful 101 so the Pad is necessary.

I love it. It was a longtime coming and I finally bit the bullet. Everything is better than I expected, build quality, functionality, the games are the out of this world, I really couldn't be happier :)

 

You know they can do drug tests to see if someone's given you roofies up until 72 hours past the time you did something completely nuts and out of character?

The best thing about the Wii U is that you can use the GamePad as a remote control. I've just lost my remote control and am VERY thankful of that feature at the moment!
