That's about right.

I think that's what you would call an oxymoron. Greg Miller was one of the few editors at IGN with an actual journalism degree, and a professional journalism background. He said a few times that gaming journalism/reporting wasn't real journalism/reporting. Gaming reporting is critical blogging on its best day. |
Huh.... Perhaps I should read more about him. Where can I get this info?
Ahh Colin and his infamous Vita is destined to destroy the 3DS article.
"The Nintendo 3DS is certainly not going to take the Vita out with N64 ports and tired, worn series''
How ironic that all Vita gets nowadays are ports...
(not hating on the Vita, it's a good console. It just hasn't been supported like it should have)
But we all make mistakes. Wish them the best of luck on their new project, and IGN might hire some fresh new staff.

This is what happens when you let big business men who don't know anything about games, run a game site.

Past Podcast Beyond episodes, and several interviews he's done (See Aisha Tyler's podcast). He got his degree in journalism at the University of Missouri and then got hired as a journalist for a Missouri newspaper before working at IGN. He's said several times that gaming journalism isn't close to what real journalists do on Podcast Beyond.
EDIT: Oh it also looks like he has a Wikipedia page.

Is it sad to say that his reviews are some of the most unprofessional reviews I've read? Like, I'm not saying they're terrible, poorly written or anything like that. But they honestly seem like they're written for blogs. Whether that's IGN's doing or not, I'm not sure.
