Geez people, this is not breaking Halo 3's record, you guys who have it higher than Halo 3 are crazy.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Just short of 2 million. That's the amount I think Nintendo will ship.

Hardware: 350k


Also the numbers could be well off just like the Japan predictions when Brawl was released, depending on how soon the 2nd shipments will arrive. I'm guessing 2nd shipment will be around 700k.

My 2.3 million prediction, for example, would amount to ~23% attach rate in the first week, while Halo 3 had a 37% attach rate in its first week. Wii's userbase is now bigger than 360's userbase was when Halo 3 launched.

Brawl won't beat Halo 3's one day sale record, and probably won't beat the N.A. one week sales. But I can almost guarantee that Brawl will beat Halo 3 in global first week sales. Unfortunately we won't find out until Europe gets this gem. :)

hardware isn't just determined by Nintendo, zen

it's also determined by Retailers

they have been holding them in their warehouses for this weekend, with many stores getting 60+ wiis on Sunday

we can expect that most stores sold their stockpiles by this week, and most sold theirs by xmas as well

so predict how many Nintendo has shipped to the US in 2007 and subtract # sold in Americas in 2007 to get an estimate of how many were sold this week

I think Brawl will have a better first week than Halo 3 if you look at the world wide first weeks.  Halo 3 had a little less than 3.8 million sales world wide its first week.

Brawl had about 1 million in Japan, and will have more than a million in Europe surely.  If it has 1.8 million in the US, I think we can suspect it will have a better world wide first week than Halo 3.

And, of course, it will have better legs.  It's a better game, after all.  It has more polish and quality and content.

the question is whether or not they will ship enough between pre-sunday shipments and tomorrow's shipments and then how many they'll have for europe's launch week
