Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will the PlayStation 4 ever get a proper Halo-like game?

I hope that if and when Bungie will make a game also on non-MS platforms, it won't be a Halo clone, it would be unfair towards MS, it wouldn't really help its competitors and it would tarnish Bungie's image.
Halo, despite being a fruit of Bungie's talent, is also very closely tied to MS, just like Pokémon are to Ninty, both are part of specific gaming experiences and they wouldn't work as well on other platforms.
Sony has its gaming universe, it relies less than Ninty and MS on few very powerful 1st and 2nd party franchises, but it works well anyway.
All in all, each console maker does its best when it follows its way, not the others.

i think this is the best comment ive read in this entire thread, especially that ending phrase.

I guess we'll find out when Halo 5 comes out. Honestly, I could be very wrong about the franchise weakening but I'm sure I'm right about halo coming to the ps4. FPS's don't do as well as other genres on the ps4 and MS doesn't want anymore people losing interest in the

Dude, what have you been smokin'? =D

As an exclusive? Absolutely not. Rarely has an exclusive FPS from PS got close to having as great of a campaign as Halo and absolutely none have had a competitive multiplayer even in the same world as Halo. Seriously, PS exclusive fps titles just never have a great population or hold any competitive merit which produces tournaments and prize pools.

In a multi-platform game however? Yeah, they already have it within COD.

Killzone is hit or miss with every iteration.

Gears is really overplayed. Cover system was cool in 2006 but today without anything else on the table for gears,  the terrible one dimensional characters and writing really ruins the games.  It started getting bad at 2... Horde mode never gets old though,  ill give it that,  but then again.  So many other games has that now with a better overall package to boot.

Terrible writing? Gears of War overall story is better than Halo 1 to 3 combined.

Ehhhhh, gonna have to disagree on that one big time...

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

I am surprised how many replies here were and I think it's really sad how many here differentiate between "them" and "us" as if this would be the only option available.

Well, you can disagree, but I firmly believe so. Bungie may have had a great plot to work with, expanded with multiple series and books, but the way the story is exposed throughout the games is mediocre. Gears of War, on the other hand, managed to explain everything self-contained in the games, whether it was the Lightmass Bomb, Dominic's over-arching plot with Maria or Adam Fenix's vanishing, if only for those random people showing up in Gears of War 3 (Gotta read the comics for that).

Heck, Halo: Reach is probably one of the most laughables attempts at making a plot. They completely ruined a great oportunity with Reach.

Yet many people loved Reach especially because of its story as can be seen how many wanted it to be in MCC, aswell.

I know. I'm not saying my opinion is prevalent over the others, and it tends to be on the minority side of things, but for me Reach is the black sheep of the franchise. Maybe the multiplayer was/is a blast, but I only play Halo for the story, and Reach's...

...well, ugh.

If you're a PS gamer and you wanted a game like Halo you would of bought an Xbox a long time ago.
