Forums - Gaming - Introducing Playstation now subscription

Decent service, but Gamefly seems like a better purchase unless you prefer to juggle many games at once. I wish Sony would allow backwards compatibility via streaming but theres no money in free.

Well they have convinced several gamers that the PS+ games are free, so...

Around the Network

Me on the PlayStation Blog:

''I noticed that the trailer included Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Bioshock Infinite, Batman: Arkham City, NBA 2K14, Spelunky, The Last of Us and XCOM: Enemy Within, all games which are not available with PlayStation Now. So will these games come to the service soon or what’s the deal?''

Answer:

''Good eyes! Yes, these are games that will come to PS Now service starting Jan 13th and will be available both as individual rentals and also as part of the launch subscription catalog of 100+ games you get! If you haven’t played any of these great games, PS Now will be a great opportunity.''

Good to see that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Bioshock Infinite, Batman: Arkham City, NBA 2K14, Spelunky, The Last of Us and XCOM: Enemy Within all are new to the service and available with the subscription. Also, it's fucking stupid IMO that if you sub to the service you don't get all the games.

My guess is that games will come and go to the service. Sony is paying the 3rd party publishers something to have them on there. So, I doubt that over time they will allow hundreds more to be added to the service. So, the service will probably always be the 100+ that they are describing, not the 300+ that many seem to think... Just my opinion though.

It is near the end of the end....

I would try it for a little while to how it is. I don't really like the idea of streaming games because of the online only aspect and with the networks being down so much. Also, IPS's in the states suck donkey balls compared to the rest of the world. Most likely, I'll stay clear of it though. I don't want the future of gaming to go into that direction.

I could see myself getting this in intervals. I'll probably never stay subscribed for more than 3 months, so $45 for 3 months is good for me.

This would be an awesome deal if they could make input latency unnoticeable.

Good plan, but not for me...

Pretty much the best way of looking at it and exactly how I feel about it.

The PS5 Exists.

You think people got scared off stream gaming because of the DDOS attacks?

They will when PSN goes down again for nearly a week and all of their games are unplayable. That's really what's going to kill streaming imo.

As a person with over 50 PS3 games, i dont see much value in this service.

Its alright for those folks that never had PS3 tho i guess
