I don't retire consoles, ever. I have my gamecube set up next to my Wii and my Wii next to my Wii U and I am fine with it

I still have my Ps2 plugged in and I still use it regularly. It will be retired next summer when I finally get a Ps4.

It was a great console for a different time. A simpler time. A happier time. Remember the good days.

Me? Thanks for asking! I last fired up my PS2 when I got a PS3. I actually used to use my PS3 for PS2 games all the time. Too bad my PS3 died in January of 2013 (Got a Super Slim in Nov. 2013 but no longer backwards compatible.) Kept all of the games, though. Just yesterday, my daughter was broken hearted when she found out she couldn't play Indigo Prophecy. I may grab another PS2 eventually since my others are broken or MIA.

I've been thinking about buying a PS2 recently as there are so many games I want to play that I didn't when they were popular. Its just the issue of them now looking absolutely shocking on a HDTV. I notice now though that there are devices which can introduce scanlines and the fuzzy look of old CRTs which are meant to be a god send for people wanting to play the older consoles and get a good picture. Anyone have any experience with these?

I retired mine recently in December when I built a new gaming PC, so I play PS2 games on PC now, they look fantastic with enhanced graphics. But I will never part with my precious PS2, the king of all electronic entertainment.

Since I only have so many ports and outlets, my PS2 is currently not plugged in. But it's far from retired. I bring it out now and then when a PS2 or PS1 game comes up in my backlog. Same goes for Dreamcast, Saturn, SNES, etc.

About that, I should retire my GBA.

Well, new stuff is hard to resist!

I retired my Wii 6 months after I bought it. Dunno why I even have that crap in a box somewhere......
I traded my DS for OG Aqua 3DS on launch but that screen broke on Holiday 2013 when I was riding a bike, so at November of same year, I upgraded to Zelda XL.

I only bought those 2 very late in the last gen. But I dunno how long it will be when I KEEP and retire my Zelda XL & Wii U. I would be using them at least halfway into next Gen 9.

I have consoles as old as the 2600 plugged in and ready to go. I game on whatever whenever, so I don't ever really retire anything. However there's some consoles that are unplugged for a period of time because I gave newer ones that are backward compatible, like Wii with GameCube.
