Mine's still plugged in. I don't use it very often, but I still think it's nice to have around. Such a great console.

During the early 2000s I was loyal to my Gamecube, but last summer I discovered my brothers retired PS2. I managed to play through a few of the classic PS2 games. The best PS2 games are still enjoyable today. There are few more PS2 games I might play, but I am thinking about retiring it again. I hope the PS2 you are all retiring get discovered like my brother's did.

Poor thing. I retired my PS1 because of my PS2 and PS3 but my Gamecube which is around 12 years old now is still plugged in. The only other console I retired is my Wii since the Wii U has complete BC and I didn't want to switch synching between my consoles.

I still have my 14 year old PS2 in the house and plugged in. But hopefully once it turns 18 I can kick it out and let it live somewhere else.

But seriously, most reliable console I ever had. Played it the most and I might get a different game to play on it every 2 years or so.

This actually made me sad lol. I remember when I retired my ps2.so many good memories with ultimate ninja 3,castlevania, time splitters etc

i rebought my ps2 in 2014, i have pretty much all my consoles set up being almost 100% ready to play even the dreamcast which i only bought to play shemue 1 on it.

I never owned a PS2... I saw my brother in law with his, two of my cousins with theirs, some of my friends bragged about it... I got to play it, loved Vice City and Yu Gi Oh, but never got a chance to buy one... Until this week. Tomorrow I'll probably play my own PS2 for the very first time!

My love for JRPGS got me to buy one, since there's so many exclusives JRPGS and other genres. I haven't even plugged in the console, and I already bought 12 games for it. Such an amazing library it seems, I hope that it'll provide me with plenty of fun and joy just like the good old GameCube did and will do while I play Baten Kaitos for the first time.

My PS2 didn't retire. It died. It died a inglorious death of old age. Did everything I could to keep him running for the longest time. Learned how to take him apart to clean him, clean his laser, and the secret laser underneath the laser lens. Kept him in good condition but when it was time to go, it was time to go. He sits in my closet in a box. I'll always be grateful though. I played some of the best games I played on that system. Xenosaga trilogy, FFX, Persona 4, DQ8, GTA, etc. etc. Too many to list.

I was just playing R-Type Final a few weeks ago. I bought it this past summer. It's pretty good. My 6 year old has a slim in his room I snagged in a yard sale for $5.00. He likes to play Wallace and Grommet, Incredible Hulk the occasional racing game. I sat down and gave Devil May Cry 2 another whirl this past week and found it to be much better than I remembered.

I do the retro thing, so it's going to be hooked up for quite some time I'm sure. I think I bought it in June 2001. It occasionally makes a funky noise in the drive. It's pretty solid for having moving parts and having hundreds and hundreds of hours put on it.
