Talking about LAG: what lag is more noticeable - the one from a wireless controller or the one by the TV electronics?

For sure the latter one.

There ARE wireless GameCube style adapters out there which need a WiiMote and come in Mario, Luigi etc. designs.

Those who prefer the "real deal" can still use their Wavebird with the GCC USB adapter...

There are good reasons not to use wireless controllers other than lag - the connection can be disturbed and they can run out of power...

Tvs add way more input lag in general.

Because many of us who wanted to be able to use the gamecube controller in the first place already have the controllers...why else would we be so adamant about getting to use them?

I, for instance. Have 5 gamecube controllers (4 wired, and a Wavebird) and I would be really unhappy if I needed to buy a whole new set of controllers when Nintendo could have easily just made an adapter. Also, I imagine the controller would feel cheap compared to the old GC controllers. Even the new ones are obviously of a lower build quality than the origionals.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Hey OP...this really has you riled up. Have you considered that Nintendo knows that a significant portion of their audience is very nostalgia based, and purists at that? They identified a demand and they catered to it. That's good business sense to me. Regardless of alternatives Nintendo really hit a home run with this product.

SSB is a game you play on the couch with friends, I'm not shelling out for multiple wireless GC controllers, when I still have a couple from my GC.

Does this mean you don't have a mobile phone or any portable device? I mean... if you were arguing this when it came to the gamegear or so with it's 6 AA batteries for 4 hours of game I would maybe agree, but it's 2015 the fact that a wireless controller will run out of batteries (if played for around 2 days straight without charging it) is just a non issue.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Guess what: I've a ton of WiiMotes. And I've experiences more than enough that I've to change the batteries/accu while playing.

Of course there is no alternative to that. So I've to deal with it.

But as there is no drawback playing smash with a wired controller as the new ones and old JP ones have long enough cables - why not use them.

If you own a wireless Pro controller - fine. Just use it for Smash.

If you don't but already own a bunch of GC controllers (cabled or wavebird) the adaptor is a "no brainer".

The game which makes me buy a Pro controller has yet to come (as I own a Wii Basic controller...)

I asked the same thing. I mean, do away with the wire Nintendo! I would love to see the gamecube controller become Sony's dualshock series. Just use it every console. It is a masterful controller.
