There are good reasons not to use wireless controllers other than lag - the connection can be disturbed and they can run out of power...

Does this mean you don't have a mobile phone or any portable device? I mean... if you were arguing this when it came to the gamegear or so with it's 6 AA batteries for 4 hours of game I would maybe agree, but it's 2015 the fact that a wireless controller will run out of batteries (if played for around 2 days straight without charging it) is just a non issue.

Guess what: I've a ton of WiiMotes. And I've experiences more than enough that I've to change the batteries/accu while playing.

Of course there is no alternative to that. So I've to deal with it.

But as there is no drawback playing smash with a wired controller as the new ones and old JP ones have long enough cables - why not use them.

If you own a wireless Pro controller - fine. Just use it for Smash.

If you don't but already own a bunch of GC controllers (cabled or wavebird) the adaptor is a "no brainer".

The game which makes me buy a Pro controller has yet to come (as I own a Wii Basic controller...)
