Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

I played the same game on the same platform seven years straight, no kidding.

The first games I remember playing (but now owning) were Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country and Secret of Mana. Any time I had to go to my parent's friend's house, I'd play those games. I'd play them from the beginning pretty much every time, but as a kid, I still had a blast playing them.

That said, I'd credit Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 as the games that shaped me the most and really got me into gaming. Since I actually owned them, I was able to have a fuller gaming experience with them compared to playing the same parts of the other 3 over and over.

The first video games I played?
Pong, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Q*Bert, Frogger, Jungle Hunt, Defender, Pitfall, Moon Patrol, Pole Position, Out Run, 1942 (arcade machines and on the Atari 2600 of my best friend) and some simple Game & Watch clones.

I might be the oldest here. My first game was Space Invaders for Atari 2600.

Age of Empires 1 on PC, the AI totally wrecked me and the axe men used to scare me the second game I played happened to be AoE 2 which is still one of my favourite games ever.

The first game I owned I think is Super Mario Bros. 3, but I am unsure.

Mario 3 introduced me to Nintendo platforms, AoE 1 introduced me to PC gaming and the PS1 was my first home console and I played a lot on my friend's PS2 so I guess that introduced me to Playstation as well? To be honest I do not think my early gaming career had much influence other than I had a lot of variety starting off. Evenutally that variety grew as I got into collecting retro games and gaming on multiple platforms. But I credit my move towards collecting for classic console my main influence to how I am today.

The first games I played were on the Atari 2600. Games I remember are Pong, Frogger, Outlaw, Spiderman, and H.E.R.O. It was all an awesome experience at the time.

Later I would various play games on Atari ST, and my first console experience was on Master System with games like Alex Kidd.

The first 'modern' console I owned myself was a Genesis/Mega Drive with Sonic game.  That's when I started playing games almost every day.

You have me by but a few years, My first game I owned was Pitfall for the 2600, before that it was arcades and pinball.  After the 2600 I got the deluxe NES set with ROB and The Gun, but I wasn't truely hooked until The Legend of Zelda.  After that was the first U.S. release of Final Fantasy which finished sealing my fate.

The earliest game I can remember playing is Pokemon Red on my Gameboy Color. I can remember the ride home with the game in my hands. I doubt I'd be such an avid gamer without Pokemon, but I don't think it's really influenced my gaming tastes much, I like a wide variety of genres.

I owned a SNES but only played Mario World/Castlevania 4. was not really into games until 1996 when Mario 64 hit. but i remember enjoying castlevania and mario world just no where near as much as Mario 64

My first console was one my parents bought before I was born. (It was for my older brother). He got a Sega Genesis bundled with Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It was the very first game I played.

As such, I became a Sonic fan for the better part of a decade. Sad to see the state he is in now...
