Have you played the game ? I have the game, done the 4 main campaign and playing online often. Problem are mostly resolved. The only real problem is that it takes 2 to 5 minutes to Matchmaking when games like COD or BF or titanfall takes 20 to 50 second to find you a party. Besides this point, the game is fine now. They even resolved framerate issues on campaign.
And I agree with Foodfather, Halo 5 is going to beast. I play the beta right now, and we are a LOT to say the MP seems to be the best of the franchise. Only hard die fan of the second episode are whining.

To the level of hype Bloodborne, No Man's Sky or The Witcher 3 are getting?
I know some said it was better, but many still pick away at it's flaws like crazy. It has more bad press than good.
Me, I don't care. I've had it preordered since early last year and am eagerly looking forward to it. I like linear titles with a heavy focus on storyline and atmosphere. I just hope they don't screw those parts up. So far the voice acting seems very well done, so i'm optimistic.

Never thought overhyped games would see articles telling you not to preorder it and almost a years worth of negative articles for the most part. I think The Order is one of those games that is currently being singled out by the media and put in a very bad light. It is very far from overhyped, which would need to involve not just forums goers but the mass media as well, ala TitanFall and Destiny. The Order does not have the media on it's side. The media almost seems dead set against it. |

There's enough info about No Man's Sky to get an idea of what to expect. |
I find it very difficult to picture what the game is about actually. Apart from "visiting" and "wandering". As far I know and correct me if I wrong, no combat has been shown so far and it is said to be core of the gameplay...
Star Wars: Battlefront
From what I've seen, the games that people on the internet and in person are getting HYPED about are:
PS4: Bloodborne, Uncharted 4
One: Halo 5, Rise of Tomb Raider
Wii U: Zelda U
Multi: Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, MGS5, Star Wars Battlefront
I do not think that Assassin's Creed, Splatoon, etc, will be very hyped. Yoshi has fans, but how many people are really looking at Yarn Yoshi and thinking "11/10! GOTY!"
Now, looking these games over, some of them seem like they're going to turn out pretty well. Zelda U might not be quite as good as we hope, but the current incarnation of the Zelda team, around since shortly after Wind Waker, has so far made five new games (plus small projects) ranging from pretty good to excellent. Even the DS duo was good when not comparing them to other Zelda games. So that game will probably not be particularly disappointing.
The same applies with Bloodborne, Arkham Knight, Witcher 3, MGS5, and Uncharted 4. Though they may not live up to expectations, they will likely be good enough to avoid disappointment.
Halo 5's problem is that people have been falling out of love with the series for nearly a decade now. 343 Industries' Halo games thus far have been Halo 4 and the remakes/compilation. Halo 4 had a worse critical reception than 1-3 and Reach, and lost its online community much quicker than prior games. The Master Chief Collection had a horrible online experience for some time after launch, and was not necessarily that impressive in many other respects. So Halo 5 could be in trouble.
Rise of Tomb Raider will be limited by the 7th gen versions of the game. The 360 will be 10 years old, give or take a few weeks, when it is released. Tomb Raider Definitive Edition for the One had an inconsistent resolution and various problems compared to the PS4 version, raising further doubts about Crystal Dynamics being able to make Rise work well on the XOne, let alone also on the 360.
That said, Star Wars Battlefront is likely to disappoint IMO. First, the game is probably going to be rushed to tie in with the new movie. Problem is, we know that DICE is also working on Mirror's Edge and Battlefield Hardline. Hardline was delayed already, cutting into Battlefront time. And based on what I know about DICE, they will put resources into major DLC for that game. Meanwhile, Battlefront requires an entire new set of assets that EA likely doesn't have lying around. And they hadn't made any visible progress by E3 last year. So I'm expecting something of a rush job.
Battlefield 3 and 4 had 9 and 10 map. Star Wars Battlefront 2 had 31 maps. Good luck DICE.

There's enough info about No Man's Sky to get an idea of what to expect. That info is fragmented though. It will live up to what the devs are saying about it but I don't know if it would live to someone's expectation of it that knows next to nothing about it. The creators reference the souls series a lot and I expect the game to be around the same difficulty as them as well as some aspects. For example, if your ship is destroyed, you'll have to use an escape pod to the nearest planet and you lose everything your ship was carrying. You'll have to buy a entire new ship from the planet you are stuck on to replace the old ship. |
Is there any combat or is mostly gathering resources? I want to give the game a shot and am now trying to not watch anything related to it so I can keep expectations in check.
I think it looks interesting, but I just think it gets a ton of praise and unfortunately the media will ride it so hard until release that people's expectations will be way too high and the chances of being disappointed will be great, even if the game itself is a very good game, similar to what happened with Destiny.

I think Halo 5 as well. Loved the previous Halos but Halo 4 just ruined it for me. Seems like they lost a lot of the originality that Bungie brought to the table.
Favorite games of all time:
1. Halo 2
2. Uncharted 2
3. The Last of Us
4. Read Dead Redemption
5. Dark Souls
After Titanfall and Halo MCC, 100% Halo 5.
