You do realise that this is just the PS4 and XBox Ones first year on the market. Do remember the Wii Us 1st year?  I do and it was very poor, especially when you ignore the cross gen games. Going forward both the X1 and PS4 will leave the Wii U behind both in terms of sheer amount of games but also those rated above either 80 or 90 on metacritic as history shows.

Even in its first full year Wii U had:

- Super Mario 3d World

All this games are good exclusives, how many good exclusives had one and ps4 this year? 2 for console?
And WiiU also had Call of duty, Need for speed, Deus ex, Arkham City, Tekken Tournament, Rayman Legends. etc...

A whole percentage point, nice. These list can be tweaked with any games we left out but the point is the Wii Us 1st year is no better than the PS4s 1st year and just like the Wii U year 2 will turn everything around, except it will continue into 2016 and beyond.

Now without a 95 port of the last year please, you can delete the remake of a 14 years old classic from 2 gens ago if you want.

OMG, ok all for you, all the fucking remakes of a year old game counts as a brand new masterpiece, of course....... 

Sales don´t matter. Look at the short lifespan of the Dreamcast, yet it still has one of the strongest followings in modern times and one of the greatest game libraries of all time. Sales matter little when you have a strong software developer behind the console.

WiiU will achieve 15M units sold LTD, but in the end it will not match even GC numbers.

Nintendo must definetely be thinking about the possibility of a new console in 2016.

Why should they? Showing up first isn't necessarily bad. But to early is pretty much like to late. No, try to get as much money out of Wii U as possible, roll out a new handheld in late 2016 and do the next home console right.

Dreamcast and WiiU are iconic in ways other low selling consoles like Jaguar or 3DO just aren't.
