In the US prior to October the Wii U was up ~50%
In Japan prior to October the Wii U was down ~8%
In the US since October the Wii U has been up ~12%
In Japan since October the Wii U has been down ~58%
Germany in week 50 had 2 Wii U games in the top 50, same as the UK had in the top 40. Granted they were a little higher in Germany, 11 and 26 versus 29 and 36, that doesn't point towards amazing Wii U sales. It was nearly identical last year week 50, two games in the top 50 at 11 and 29. I'm also not sure about the logic on Germany being Nintendo friendly, therefore sales are up YoY. It is being compared against itself. Unless Germany wasn't Nintendo friendly a year ago, that fact should cancel itself out in the equation.
You seem to be using a similar line of thinking with US sales. November and December might be different beasts, but for December to be up YoY you have to compare it to December, not November. November being down and December being up in 2013 when compared to the launch period can't be directly translated to this year. If anything, performing well last December will make it more difficult for Wii U to be up YoY, not less. The Wii U is also looking like it will be down somewhere around 170-190k in Japan in December. The Wii U will need to be up around 20% if the US is going to make up half of that. Europe up around 50% to make up the other half.
