I don't really care for this tech and I don't think many more will either. I'm more open to Illumi-room. I don't want to wear some clunky headset that sits over my eyes, just sitting in my gamer room looking like I'm driving a damn spaceship.

I'm not really convinced by these VR headsets quite yet. When I hear Virtual Reality I think of something like Sword Art Online where it actually takes u into the game (obviously that's not possible, at least yet), not just putting a box over ur head and having a screen up close to ur face.
Maybe there is more to it than that but that's how these VR headsets seem to me and their success also heavily depends on the price. Will people spend $300 for an accessory when they just spent $300-400 on a console? Yes some will but I can't see them being big mass market successes like Wii or the Kinect were.

no, it's a niche market for a very small, limited audience with deeper pockets in my opinion.
maybe in like 10 years it could become something big.... i'd be more interested in using those to watch a movie in bed and get a cinematic solo feel to it or something like that
Given the enormous number of problems that VR still has to overcome, the fact that it isn't exactly user friendly, and how incredibly awkward it would be for anyone who isn't single (blind and deaf in your own house), no Nintendo won't be envious. VR has its place, but it isn't in the mainstream. Could you even imagine playing anything remotely twitch or fast paced with that thing? Talk about serious vertigo. The Wii had the advantage of being user friendly, cheap, solved most of the problems motion controls had, and fused conventional and unconventional gameplay. Comparing VR to the Wii is not a fair comparison.
"VR" is a fad, that adds absolutely nothing to the actual gaming experience, just like 3D is, just like motion controls were. So I'd say no.
well there is no reason for them not to do one themselves as they had the VertualBoy. the Gamepad is pretty close already

Nope, and I think that will be for the better!

No. VR is an expensive niche peripheral that will only sell to a small segment of the market. And that market segment has never been interested in Nintendo.

My guess is that VR is going to end up being a massive failure that will lose everyone tremendous amounts of money, or at the very least never move beyond being a slight novelty that only some people care about. So I really don't think Nintendo will ever feel left out. Even if VR did well, Nintendo basically cares none about what others are doing, so they won't care.

VR for the massmarket is still half a decade away maybe a whole decade. As mindblowing as VR is until it will be console ready there is plenty of time for Nintendo to react. Dont expect MS or Sony to launch a product soon.
