Here in Europe a lot of release dates for most of 1990's don't match yours as many games came a year later (or, 'the next year', at least), but here's mine based on our release dates:

1997 and 1998 have soo many choices though. 2002, 2003 and 2009 are pretty good years as well, because I can't mention some that are way better some best ones of a lot of other years. 1990, 1996 (we got N64 in 1997, as evidenced by my 1997 entry), 2001, 2008 and 2014 were a bit lacking for me, but luckily I don't exactly remember 1990.
Such lists always seem a bit one sided. Though it looks like I only like Nintendo games because they win almost every year, that obviously is far from the truth.
