So by your logic Transformers 4 should of won best pitcure instead of 12 Years a Slave because more people saw it? Game of the Year should be the following, 1st gameplay, than everything else and shouldn't matter what console its on or how many. When was the last time Nintendo received a Game of the Year Award.
Dude, they're not going to award the title of GOTY to a game no one played. And as good as MK8 and Smash are, they're nowhere near GOTY material.

I'm Glad NINTENDO doesn't bow to gamers who are in their 20's, im glad they make games my children can enjoy without blowing someone's head off, and I'm glad I get to see my kids grow up on Mario just like I did. |

Bayonetta 2? cmon dude.
We will see Bayonetta 2 be considered the best action game ever, and Inquisition, another good rpg but worse than Origins, Skyrim, Elder scroll 6, witcher 3, Xenoblade, etc etc etc People always thinks that the bigger, and the more powerfull the game is, the most deserves the goty... time is going to put classics where they belong.

Bayonetta 2 it's one of those games where the plot doesn't matter, you could skip the cutscenes and still notice any difference. About mechanics, can't say anything but like it is, I think it's perfect.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
