SvennoJ --- i have doen the first six events and so far the desig to me is boring . As you said, the later levels are awesome, so will updating my impression , once i have done more of the other levels with faster cars and weather included in the race. The lighting is definetly awesome. WIll give that you , especially when day time becomes night and how the light reflects on teh car depending on the angle youa re driving at . Its a fun game , but the driving mechanic is too simplistic. For me its more arcadey then a sim racer

I have to ask thought is simplistic dirivng a  bad thing or something? I thought that is what it was going for more in between sim and arcade. That's why I liked it and also why I like FH over the regular Forza series because it wsa more arcade like than sim. I am just asking because it is as if you are saying because the driving mechanics are simple that makes it bad or something.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

@kerotan --> this is my opinion pre weather patch. Well in terms of car quality driveclub is not better then forza horizon 2 considering the size of world. I was expecting alot better visuals for car model since it only ahs small amoutn of cars and the race circuit is small. In terms of environment, i would say forza horizon2 is just as good and that game is again a bigger world.I haven't seen the weather in drive club yet , but i would give that edge towards drive club. Hope that answers your questions

name a game that looks better than driveclub? horizon 2 looks like a PS3 game compared to Driveclub. It's open world and that's the reason. SO name a track racer that looks better.

In terms of how the cars performed they have gone for a mix of a sim and an arcade. If you want to compare the driving to a sim only and on sim standards you will obviously chose the driving in the sim. The type of game you should compare the driving to is Project Gotham which was excellent BTW.

And no it doesn't answer my questions because I'm asking out of all the games in the world what looks better. I konw Horizon looks worse so I don't need you to compare those two anyway.

PS. Quote me if you reply, otherwside I likely won't see it.

I would advise racing in any of the in car views, much better experience. I guess since you're talking about the car models and the reflection on the car that you're driving in 3rd person? I can see why the first 6 events would be boring in that case. The game is made for driving in first person mode.
Hood cam or close to window shield cam are my favorites. Full interior obstructs too much of the view and feels to me like I'm driving from the back seat. I never race in 3rd person mode, breaks all immersion for me. That's probably why I can't get into MK8, forced to 3rd person view. Just feels slow and detached to me.

SvennoJ --- yes i am driving in third person. Have tried driving in first person mode. The interior loosk nice, especially with the sunlight reflecting from rear view mirror. Will playing more tonight after work :D. Ah fair enough , the game is fun though.

Kerotan -- i unfortunately can't. Work browser doesn't allow me to quote and then reply. Lol, ps3 can dream to havea game that looks as good as forza horizon 2. GT6 being ps3 best looking driving game, doesn't coem close. However , its your opinion and therefore will respect it :) For me if you have a closed circuit game or aclosed game liek god of war or uncharted game, you would expect the game to have those type of visuals as the world itself is limited to that area. However driveclub apart from the weather doens't have the same quality visuals. Its not an ugly game. Its a pretty game but not phenomenal looking game. Even forza horizon 2 falls in the same category as driveclub graphics. Its certainly the best looking closed circuit racer , but not the best looking racer if you include open world racers as well.

So anyway, seeing as we have a nice thread going on in Driveclub, should we not...ya know, make a vgchartz club and make them climb that leaderboard??

I'm sorry but GT6 does actually come close and that's nopt anything to brag about. One is open world and the other is a track racer.

LOL so you think Driveclub is the best track racer ever but you also think an open world racer looks better? C'mon man you don't really beleive that. It's like expecting GTA 5 to be as good graphically as something like Metro Last Light. It just ain't happening and I've watched a few FH2 vids. The game is not that detailed when you are stopped an analyize the textures. It runs and looks excellent for an open world game but it just doesn't compare to Driveclub (and surely many future track based racers).

Play some more events, the beauty is in the variety and lighting. Definitely try first person some more. For example at night you're headlights reflect in the rearview and side mirrors of the cars in front of you, details you probably miss from 3rd person camera angle.

FH2 looks very good for an openworld game to me, but I have also seen many bland areas. I can't judge it though, haven't played it yet. In (gameplay) screenshots and videos driveclub looks much better. Could be because I have seen DC in motion without compression.

Comparing photo mode shots, the cars look a bit better in FH2, environment, lighting and effects, DC is way ahead.

It doesn't matter in the end. The games are a different genre, track based high score chasing vs openworld car rpg. Both do a great job to immerse you in the driving experience and excel in their strengths. Referring back to the thread title, it's hard to see why one scores 1.5 points higher on average.

I'm in RogueSquadron, owned by Fei-Hung (vgchartz). He was reserving the last spot for one of his friends, maybe you can change his mind if you want to switch over.
