You probably said that on purpose, but MGS was popularised by the PSOne. The PC is hardly "where it belongs".

The point of my OP wasn't to prove the viability of Steam or to compete with or bash other platforms. I was honestly being satirical when I said PC was where it belongs, because obviously it has much of a right to be on consoles as well.

Go out a buy some PC for 320 dollars without any accesories and without installing any enhacers and programms and you#re left with by far the worst gaming hardware there is

Please, everyone, watch those quote trees. No more than three per post.

This, so much this. MGO will be much bigger on PS4 then any other platform, possibly all others combined. But nice to see it on PC, hopefully we see some awesome mods come from it. |
Yep. The ps4 will have the best community simply because it's community is historically on playstation. And let's get real here, it's a Japanese game, and they usually don't do their best work on PC. I'm guessing it will look the same on PC and PS4.

It doesnt happen because of misinterpretations, it happens because PC gamers are vague about their comments. they either say 1) gaming PC's cant be built for as much as a console (which I agree with, but doesnt paint the whole picture) or 2) gaming PC's perform better than consoles. (which I agree with, but doesnt paint the whole picture) for 1) they never say that PC will perform worse than a console and for 2) they never say the extra investment required to achieve that extra performance. |
The latter. I said the myth appears because people misinterprete people that defend the cost of PC gaming. Personally I have yet to see a single person that would have claimed what the myth states. It's a misinterpretation, although the other side is being vague too. But saying that console gaming is cheaper is a vague generalization too, and one that happens quite often, so I can't really blame the PC people here.
| zero129 said: Ok but 1 why would a person buy a 300€ PC for gaming?? But even so! i bet i could find a PC for 300 or less that can play all games looking better then PS3 and x360 that comes with accesories then add another 200-300 if you want and you have a PC that will blow the PS4 and X1 out of the water. Next year it will be even cheaper again remember that.. |
Hes saying that because PC gamers claim that you can buy PC parts for the same price as a console and get overall the same experience, even when you exclude exclusives to a console. Im sorry, but a $320 built PC is a joke...$500 or more will get you a mid tier PC.
Pc gaming is too much of a hassle, nobody that has a life has time to build that crap

This coming from a guy who's posting on a videogame forum, Lol. All you really need is an evening to build a new rig. Preliminary research on components and whatnot takes a bit more time, but I'm sure you could manage it if you took a short break from vgchartz.
OT: The "natural home" of MGS is on PC. :P

I assume you mean that because of software costs? But even in that, best case scenario for PC gamers is get digital games for dirt cheap, but the best case scenario for console gamers is to buy games, play them, then sell them for a PROFIT pre-owned. for the same amount of money, you can play far more games on console and keep the favourite ones. on PC you have to keep what you buy so for more games, you have to shell out more. no trades.
