Forums - Sony Discussion - Eurogamer: Reasons Why you might not want to pre-order The Order 1886

I think it's good to call out a crappy game, even if it is a preview.. this game is coming very soon. I don't care who's game they say sucks... just because it's a Sony game, or nintendo, or ms game, dont we all want the truth? Get over it, just because this happens to be the next big ps4 release, doesn't mean they should blow smoke up our asses about it.. if it sucks now, say so, and they have. If you want to preorder a crappy game because of who published it, more power to you.

There is an other thread with all the previews from the last build, and the majority are positive, but this thread flopped, now, eurogamer gives a negative preview and the thread about this preview is a success...

I guess eurogamer are not the only one who want to see the game fail, some people here too

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

So if you are on a mission that you must go absolutely undetected as objective and you are seem them lose it shows the game would crash otherwise not that you don't have the skills, memory or wanted to use a walkthrough??? It must be bad design, not just a game you don't like to play?

If it’s a mission I must go absolutely undetected and I lose it then have an alternative fail where I do not have to start from the beginning.  In other words what i am saying is that this is a game play choice by the developer.  It's a very linear approach with no option to the player.  There are multiple ways for the developer to approach such scenarios but they chose this route.  For some people it will not be an issue.  For me, it’s an old school irritating mechanic that I hate.  To give you an example of mechanic I do love take Deus Ex.  It had plenty of stealth parts that allowed you as the gamer to tackle how you wanted and if you failed in doing so just meant you had to fight your way out, run away or find another route.  Another game would be dishonored.

Having a mechanic where you try fail, do over, try fail do over is not fun for me, this is the reason its a big negative on my book.  Skills have nothing to do with it, I just do not do over type mechanic gameplay mostly because it breaks you out of the game.

A mechanic that makes you fail a lot for you is broken, for most it's just challenging... but thanks for the precious inputs on a game I'm certain you were planning on buying if not for all these deal breaker issues. In fact I'm certain you are hyping other 1st party titles from Sony.

Despite the bugs and flaws it looks like a generic 3rd person shooter to me. Ill be sure to avoid unless gets a meta of 90+ (which it wont).

The discussion isn't even about a bad preview... is the negative propaganda over a game while other with similar or worse issues got a free pass.

What propaganda? What sort of agenda are the press pushing?

Importance is relative; they're not entirely insignificant, I just don't think they're anywhere near as important as gameplay.

A game that plays great but has bad graphics is still great, while a game that plays bad but has great graphics is still bad.

In my humble opinion, anyway.

Seems like a bargain bin game for me to be honest. Those QTE are just really off putting. And I still can't get over that wonky cover based system.

Hopefully there is a good deal come Black Friday 2015.

It's rare to see the media so against a game before it comes out that they make numerous articles/videos about its negative sides.

My guess is Ready at Dawn's aiming for a more 'filmic look' and the notion that RaD could not "get around" the fact that they were making a game probably ruffled some feathers.

Doesn't imbue me with any confidence.
