It's not really that big games when we talk about Japan


It will sell more units in Japan then half of that list I suspect.

U3 and U2 done 200k each.  Some western franchises have become more popular in recent years, I'm thinking/hoping Uncharted will be one of them.

GTA V sold 800k on PS3 far higher then its predecessors, Im presuming its getting a PS4 launch over there In Q1/Q2. That should do very well too. 


But did any of them boost ps3?

Probably,  I think it will contribute towards any future baseline anyway. Looking back at 2011, PS3's baseline was up 9% during uncharted 3's launch. The game debuted with 120k (bigger then I expected). Expect the bump to be bigger as the PS4 will still be relatively new when it launches versus the PS3 in 2011.

The week before Uncharted 3 ps3 sold 25217 and the week of Uncharted 3 it sold 26966

The week before gta 5 ps3 sold 10232 and the week of gta 5 it sold 12395

So both wasn't a system seller

Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise

Japan is heavily front loaded.

The only reason it wouldn't is because of the systems launch week numbers (500k?). Otherwise Im expecting a much higher baseline. If FFXV, Street FIghter V, Deep Down, Tekken 7, Gundam and Persona 5 all get released in the fall we could quite easily have the PS4 achieve more then one 100k weeks next year which I think will outweigh the 2014's launch numbers.

If we're only counting big system sellers then the OP might aswell remove half those games, otherwise based on whats there Uncharted and GTA are worth a shout.

edit: Also very few games gave the PS3 a hardware boost late in its life. FFXIII: Lightning returns only the gave the ps3 a 3% boost when it launched november 2013, smaller then Uncharted and GTA.

Even Uncharted 2 didn't boost ps3
i agree he should remove half of the game on the list,but he ask a question how ps4 hardware will sell in 2015,Uncharted 4 will not do much for hardware.

And for The order nothing guaranteed it will sold well just like Uncharted

Nah, all the games releasing next year should definitely push the PS4s second year over its first, unless that DQ bundle that released yesterday is unlimited and starts ripping up the charts in the next weeks, since I haven't heard anything about the performance of that and since the thing seems to be sold out at Amazon and is being sold through a 3rd party for 10000 yen more (only 19 left) I'd say that the thing is very limited though.

Wii u launch line up was stronger then ps4 one, nothing was bigger then Monster Hunter and New Super Mario Bros. U on ps4 launch

I have no idea how big Batman is in Japan, but Batman: Arkham Knight comes out July 2nd in Japan as a PS4 exclusive

I don't see it happening as much in Japan, the Japanese home console market has been declining for some time while the mobile market has soared, I'd imagine it would only push 1-2 million at most.

People look to fact without looking to reasons did you see how both wii u and ps4 was lacking of  big Japanese games why people would buy a console without games that they interest them?

You make the same mistake as people who said after the release of wii u and before ps4 and xbox1 came that consoles are dead just because wii u did bad in west
