It could very well have a worse one. For one thing, Japan's economy has slipped into recession.

The other : PS4's first year in Japan hasn't been remarkably better than the WiiU's. I don't think Japanese consumers have soured against Nintendo or Sony any much more than the other.

Japan is heavily front loaded.

Wii u launch line up was stronger then ps4 one, nothing was bigger then Monster Hunter and New Super Mario Bros. U on ps4 launch
