It has actually been this way all year outside of the late spring/early summer boost Mario Kart caused (2013 had nothing noteworthy in this time period, hence the YoY increase).

 

Trimester 1 (pre-Mario Kart)

2013-225k, major releases Lego City (March)

2014-250k, major releases DKC (February)

 

Trimester 2 (Mario Kart launch)

2013-135k, major releases Pikmin (August)

2014-340k, major releases Mario Kart (May)

 

Trimester 3 (post Mario Kart, excluding December)

2013 -360k, major releases Wind Waker+3D World

2014-400k, major releases Hyrule Warriors+Smash U

 

The first & third trimesters of the year are pretty similar with 2014 up by about 10%. The only part of the year with significant growth is when Mario Kart released which happens to be when Wii U had nothing noteworthy in the previous year. If 2013 had a major release in May/June then we likely would have seen only a modest growth YoY like the rest of the year when the release schedules were similar.

Also Wii U did 480k last December so it should do about 500-150k this year

Still wasnt vgc numbers for just BF week over 225k for just one week. It seems the wii u sold nothing on black friday

It's overtracked, we just got NPD results which shows Wii U sold 220k for the entire month

I'm more so looking at worldwide numbers and its way above last years, so win so far. that could change though with the december numbers and it could fall behind 2013's numbers. But as of right now its way ahead of them

IIRC Nintendo shipped 330k Wii Us the Donkey Kong quarter, 550k the Mario Kart 8 Quarter, and 610k Wii Us the Hyrule Warriors (july, august, september). Lets see how much they ship this year. It seems to me like the new 3ds and smash bros for 3ds hurt will hurt the Wii U a lot this december in Japan. Parents aren't going to buy their kids 2 Nintendo consoles for Xmas.

I just want the Wii U selling good, enough to satisfy Nintendo. 



My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
