The bump from Oct to Nov was only 170k because I'm taking 70k as baseline because other games like Bayonetta2 and Hyrule Warriors (I'm being kind with SSBU) while there was nothing in May except MK8 hype.

And in Nov there's black friday, which I'm not considering in the equation.

I'm just shocked that Smash Bros. could barely help increase sales. And its not like Nintendo weren't marketing Smash Bros. either. I saw quite a few adverts for the game and Wii U.

Ur still not taking into account that May+June was 32 days of MK while Nov was only 9 days of Smash.

At this point, people should probably start shifting their desire to see Nintendo "winning" towards something more in line with pride. They've been around longer than the other two by a huge margin. For all intents and purposes, they created the modern era (NES) and laid the ground work for PS and Xbox. They brought gaming back from extinction and created some of, if not the best IP ever created... some of which influenced what we all play today.

Nintendo doesn't need to be PS. It just needs to make money and stay in business. Those who enjoy their stuff, be happy you actually do, in fact, still get to enjoy it. Stop worrying about sales.

Black Firday and holiday bump are one in the same. Amiibo isn't really a console mover, it's an accessory that adds new features to Smash Bros. And Wii U November sold more than Wii U in May+June. Little over 1 week of Smash vs 5 weeks of Mario Kart+new bundle.

That 3DWorld didn't move consoles. SSBU move a lot less consoles than expected. MK8 gave a lot of hope while SSBU makes Wii U go back to its darkness.

None of them moved many consoles. Like I said in the OP, Mario Kart gave a false sense that it was a big system seller without taking into account that it released in a time that was facing a drought in the previous year. Jan-May & July-Oct averaged like 70k per month according to NPD, June was a whopping 140k, Mario Kart boosted sales by a staggering 70k over the monthly average, not that impressive.

Honestly if u switched the release dates of Mario Kart & Smash Bros, we likely would have seen very similar sales each month.
