No one is doing this for the DS4 touchpad and tracking light. Just sayin.

Good to hear. I've heard a friend of mine who'd started this gen with a Vita instead of the 3DS refer to the Wii-U's gamepad as a more ergonomic version of it. - Granted that has alot to do with being designed for home use which allowed them to focus on giving it those lovely back curves and not having a heavy battery due to being designed to be on charge during proper sessions.
Also offscreen play for life. Unless I need a map or inventory.
I'd be a hipster and say Nintendo did it first!

Depends, would this mean the PS5 would be less powerful and more expensive because of it? If so, then it would affect when I'd purchase it. If it had no affect (not sure how) on power and price then I'd buy one and get a "PS5 DS5 Pro Contoller" as well.

No, it's Gamepad with a capital G as it says in the title, the rest of the consoles have gamepads. So it's fine.
Still a weird name to choose.

The tablet isn't the reason why I'm not buying a Wii U. The reason I'm not buying a Wii U yet is because there aren't all too many games I'm interested in for the system, combined with the unreasonable price for what I'll get out of it. If tge Gamepad would've been removed, the price could've been cheaper, which might turn it into a worthwhile investment for me.

Yeah I would like that. I like the Wii U gamepad. They just need to improve the battery and make it lighter.
The gamepad just confused the marketing of the wii U making people think it was just an add on for the wii, the gamepad itself isn't the reason the wii U isn't selling
