Wel I also like the one with the lines ^^''.
There's nothing special about those graphs for ioi to take notice, I'm sure if he wanted something like that he'd of already done it, which he kind of has.
I like the top one over the bottom one, I wouldn't mind seeing handhelds added to that, it is a nice graph still.

The 1st 1 looks better but the 2nd one makes more sense. I agree with Kingofwale, it should be a bar graph instead. But the numbers for the current gen don't really give a nice indication of the industry. It would be nice to add at the beginning of next gen though. Now the current gen sales are still too premature.
Conclusions I can make by looking at this chart:
- NES had the longest lifespan, PS2 will probably come close
- Next gen will start not sooner then 2011
- Microsoft will be the 1st to enter the next gen
- Nintendo is back baby!
- Xbox360 will probably become as popular as the Genesis
- No company has dominated 3 years in a row
- Handhelds should really be included
area charts are good for this, something showing the sales from a single manufacturer each year on a year to year basis would be fantastic
Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!
It doesn't make sense to me.... Maybe if you take off the last ones, Wii, 360 and PS3, because they haven't reach the end of their cicle...
1 2 3 not only you and me.
Livin' in sin is the new thing.

Jesus... the ps3 looked like a jet got shot down.
