Forums - Gaming - First thread thingy. Is this console generation your last?

PC is already my primary gaming platform, but i can't see myself ever not owning consoles. Not just because of how convenient they can be, but because a lot of my favorite series are never released on PC (Uncharted, Persona, Halo, Zelda, Ratchet & Clank, Yakuza, Pokemon, etc).

I expect i'll be a part of the glorious multi-platform master race for a long time yet :p

Nope!

Simply prefer gaming on a console, on big TV, with controllers and first party exclusives. Desktops are ugly, huge, cumbersome and simply not practical for me.

You could buy a very good laptop and use an HDMI cable in order to play in your TV, and connect a controller in order to pretend that you're playing in a console, works for me, and it's basically the same thing.

Yeah, I've got quite a power laptop but i don't like the idea of it being my dedicated gaming machine. Probably influenced by the fact that I live with siblings who also play games which means the console has to be seperate from any personal devices. Say I wanna use the laptop but they wanna play game...

My guess is next gen will use 3D in gaming with better graphics etc. It will be a bigger leap than this gen.

Nope. Sony first party is too alluring as the sales show

No, this is probably not my last console gen, but who knows? I'm a Nintendo + PC guy, so I already own a PC, but as long as Nintendo makes games I'll get a console.

I also wanna give you a tip for your next thread; use more paragraphs. Reading two long ones are tedious.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

No never! :P

Chances are most of us buy consoles for their exclusives. I will continue to do the same so long as I have the spare money. I like the PC(I have a decent gaming laptop) but am not a big fan of digital. I cant bring myself to spend more than $30 on a digital game(and that has to be complete with all DLC) so Im not happy waiting 6 months to a year to play things. I also dont care for PC DRM so steam/origin dont do much for me. I love my PC gaming but its mostly becoming a classics/indy machine.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

No. I prefer console gaming over pc.

It will be if console gaming goes 100% digital

Nah. I'm interested to see how Nintendo goes about the fusion route next gen and how Sony/Microsoft will one-up each other when graphical prowess will no longer 'wow' the consumer. Hoping all developers soon realize that gorgeous art styles, unique gameplay mechanics and innovative use of technology is the way to go.
