Seventh gen might have been like you describe, but it also brought to us some of the best japanese games ever conceived in History.

Given the circumstances, though, I don't see that changing with the PS4. Perhaps with the PS5.

I wanted to remind people that SE published great games that are not remakes, mobile games and FFXIII.

There are 15 of them, of which 9 were developped internally. I think i made my point, as wether you like these games or not, they had great reception.

I never thought of them as a company that gets lots of hate... That said, every large software company gets its share of hate.

-FF14.  MMO.  I'm not going to pay $15 a month no matter how good the game is. 
-TWEWY.  Never played it.
-Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.  Entire series is overrated garbage.
-Final Fantasy 13.  Garbage.
-Final Fantasy Chronicles My Life as King.  Garbage.  Build a town and read text about your party getting through a dungeon or dying and returning to town.  Practically no gameplay.  An 80+ score is clearly because it's named Final Fantasy.
-Dragon Quest Swords.  Haven't played
-FF12 Revenant Wings.  Havne't played.
-FFTactics War of the Lions.  A port in a topic that states no ports.  A really crappy port as well.  All attack skills go at 40% of the regular speed.  It took fans of the game and CFW to fix that bs issue.  What a joke of a port.

I thoroughly enjoyed 4 of them. And also the one that didn't quite make it.

Another reason why  Metacritic(aka western reviewers) is garbage when it comes to JRPGs.

You inadvertedly acknowledge the game being good, though. >:)

Also, I think you hate FF13 because Sazh was one of the best characters and you're racist.

Their output from the Japanese side of things has been well below what people had come to expect of them. They completely drove final fantasy's legacy into the ground with their mismanagement. When people complain about Square they're not complaining about their western devs, although Square likes to complain about them *cough* Tomb Raider *cough*

SE published those games. I really liked their western output.

But their home console releases from Square was just terrible if you did not prefer FFXIII. A lot of people want a return to form with some nice home console releases.

Ah, the bulletproof "B-but Metacritic" defense.

FFXIII didn't deserve anything more than a 60 at best. I got so bored with it I never finished it.
