The question is, how long do we have to wait to confirm or deny the 10K gap ? i dont know how that usually takes.

You're probably right. That is a very poor number for them this year given the much better lineup of games. 

I wonder how long they will support Wii U given all this. 

Around 7.7m. It's probably going to end up at around 9m at the end of this year.



Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

Im not going to say this is WiiU peak year, btf just because 2 of the biggest console franchise released this year doesn't warrant it is its peak. Nintendo didn't even try this holiday at all in terms of pushing HW and this is the result (just looking at US+Japan). I meana LoZ+Starfox next holiday with a huge price cut can swing things around. Also WiiU lineup next year looks way more solid than this years, as 2014 had 3 major games (500k+ sellers) vs next year which has potentially alot more :)

Also need to include that since NPD estimates part of their numbers, 10K is definitely within the margin of error.  If the 10K is true, then I think it's safe to just call it a draw.  Or a Sony win, if we throw profit into it.
