Forums - Sony - Souls & Street Fighter, Which Community is Next?

If the question you are asking is "Which franchise could be the next to go PS exclusive", then I'd still say that there's a chance for Silent Hill to be the next.

The next elder scrolls exclusive to the ps4 and pc would be an epic blow to ms 's game library.

Really hard to happen.
Elder Scrolls is with XBOX since the original console with Morrowind.

Perhaps. There's a chance sony could sway bethesda into going exclusive or timed exclusive with the next elder scrolls since sony has about 50% of the player base. I think it would be a good game to try that with.

No PC version of Silent Hill could get a lot of people angry.

Demons' Souls was a PS exclusive owned by Sony. Bloodborne is a spiritual successor that's also a Sony property. That's like complaining that Nintendo moneyhatted Metroid, or MS moneyhatted Fable.

That is a terrible analogy. DeS was Sony then the franchises' spiritual successor DaS went console multiplat, then PC and now back to Sony with its newest iteration(though the DaS2 re-release  is still multiplat.) A better analogy would be if mainline Final Fantasy(FF15) went back to Sony. Either way my point is there is a dedicated fanbase and a sizeable percent (I would say minimum 20%)of that fanbase is being cut off.

Cut off from what exactly? Bloodborne is not a sequel or part of an existing franchise. It occupies the same niche as the souls games, but no one has any kind of claim on Bloodborne that it *should* be multi platform. The game is a new and separate IP, which Sony contracted From to make. It is the same as Sunset Overdrive. Spiritual successor is a meaningless term used for marketing purposes to tell people that if you liked game A then you should buy game B because it's the "spiritual successor".

If you want to lump this situation in with RTR or SFV by calling it moneyhatting then fine, but you have to call all 3rd party exclusive arrangements moneyhatting. There is nothing stopping Dark Souls 3 from being made is a couple of years time. The only danger of that not happening is if Bloodborne is very successful and From decides, with Sony's help, that Bloodborne 2 is a more profitable prospect than Dark Souls 3. Time will tell I guess. One thing I will say is that the Bloodborne moneyhatted is a far more honourable and beneficial for industry and gamers moneyhat than either the RTR or SFV moneyhats. I don't mind at all if any of the big 3 moneyhat new IP, it helps the creation of new IP, which keeps our industry fresh.

If one day MS or Ninty Moneyhat a new IP that makes me drool with envy then I will have a choice to make: buy the platform so I can play it, or miss out. One thing I won't do is jump on the internet and cry about the unfairness of it all.

Street Fighter V is PS4/PC, so I guess they could do it that way.

No X1 version of Silent Hills could get a lot of people angry as well. The game has the chance to become something "huge" looking at the impact that P.T. made, definitely bigger than past entries in the series.

Cut off from playing ta game that they would likely otherwise buy. PC/Xbox shouldnt be entitled to it, but the revenue that is coming from those people is likely gone to an extent.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

TES is too big for anyone to moneyhat exclusivity. Skyrim sold way to much on 360 for Sony to realistically snag it, and MS would have to pay more than they would be willing to hand over because sales on PS3 were also very high. Of course there would be PC gamer meltdowns and rioting on the streets if either company kept it off PC.

You have to look to the 2-3 million selling franchises on 360 for the sweet spot of a franchise with enough popularity to attract people to PS4 who otherwise might not have bought it, but not so popular that Sony would have to pay stupid amounts of money to exclusivise the game.
