Makes the image much more clear and sharp but makes aliasing ( jagged edges ) that more visible and annoying. Overall, definite, astounding YES.

If the increased jaggies annoy you, use 480i mode (it works even with component cables), and you'll get your blurriness back while maintaining the good color quality given by the component cables.

Haven't tried that! I'm gonna do it now and try to see the difference! Thanx NJ5!

I paid a premium for my component cables, and I have a badass brand new toshiba HD, and the difference is immediately noticable and 100 percent better than my old cables.

I highly suggest buying them, there is no other alternative, imo. 10/10.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I have had them for both the Wii and GC(a ton of games on GC support 480p/16:9) and it looks fantastic, even on GC games. To be honest I have never played Wii without component cables(I bought them from the Nintendo store months before I got the system, due to supply restraint rumors) but I dont understand why you should not get the best out of the system.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Depends how many Wii games that run in 480p you have. If they cost you $10 after shipping, and you have 10 games, it's like paying $1 for each game to look WAY better.

Haha. Go for it. It was a huge difference on my old TV and on my new TV.

I assume you have a HDTV? Then YES, buy official Nintendo or Monster component cables!!

I wouldn't recommend running in 480p, use 576i instead, if possible. It's a better resolution, and it loses some jaggies, too. Also, if you have a good TV, your TV will de-interlace the images well enough, so technically you'll run in 576p, which looks awesome on my TV.

Doesn't that put the console in 50 Hz mode though?

Yes, but the upped resolution is worth it. I don't even see a difference, except for the higher resolution. My TV always runs @ 60HZ, 576i, 480p, doesn't matter.

I was just wondering if it made the games slower... I think my TV can probably do that too, I'll check it out later.

Yes. Even if you don't change the resolution to 480p, the component cables make the colors more vibrant (assuming you have TV capable of 480p or above).
