I assume you have a HDTV? Then YES, buy official Nintendo or Monster component cables!!
I wouldn't recommend running in 480p, use 576i instead, if possible. It's a better resolution, and it loses some jaggies, too. Also, if you have a good TV, your TV will de-interlace the images well enough, so technically you'll run in 576p, which looks awesome on my TV.
