Forums - Nintendo - Can Nintendo release atleast 1 Wii U exclusive game a month in 2015?

Is it possible?

Definitely! 55 31.61%

Only if nothing gets delayed! 48 27.59%

No, it's Nintendo. 57 32.76%

When this was asked a few months ago I would say no. BUT with all these rumours and such popping up then it actually might be possible.

If Nintendo actually manage to release 1 game per month it should impress the entire gaming world.

Nope, not gonna happen.
January already looks empty in NA/JP, as Feb will likely be in EU with Kirby delayed to the second half of 2015 there.

We'll see droughts in the first 7 months of the year, then a game a month for the last 5, just like 2013 and 2014.

I see it as a possibility, but it's not definite.
Really, what Nintendo needs to do if they want to achieve this and prevent droughts is to localize more games (Fatal Frame, I'm looking directly at you), partner with more 3rd party developers (they've started to do this with Platinum and Koei Tecmo) and plan out their dev cycles accordingly. We can't have every single blockbuster game coming out in the holiday season; it's just not efficient.

I think we'll get at least one main exclusive in most months of 2015, but regardless the rest can be filled with indies, multiplats or even old Wii games.

Kirby is scheduled for January 22 in Japan.

@OT, I think if we count digital exclusives and only look at Japan then it's possible. Considering Nintendo's lack of consistency for global releases, it's less likely they'll manage it in each of the three major regions.

They will probably miss a month or two, anyway.

they can but probably wont. If they were they would have announced a game for january by now. Feb is the soones we're getting a game and it'll probably be mario maker. If they at least release xeno, zelda, star fox, splatoon, and devils 3rd all this year, and announce fatal frame for an october launch (which i predict they will), then i would be beyond satisfied with nintendo (so long as those games are good of course). Smash bros will still be my life for the next few months and i still have to finish shadow of mordor and evil within, so i won't mind a slow start. Next year will start off the same as i'll still be playing zelda! can't wait!

Possible, for sure. I'm assuming there'll be at least a couple of new announcements at E3 next year that come out before the end of 2015, too.

It will never happen, don't even get your hopes up.

Then Feb will be empty for JP/EU, and Jan will be empty for NA.

Really though, there's no excuse for there not to be a game a month save for sheer incompetence. Any efficient dev could have churned out Mario Maker in a few months.

Maybe Nintendo doesn't want to churn out one of their most important releases of the year.

Besides, if Nintendo had churned it out in a few months, it would have been released this year. Maybe even last year. That wouldn't have helped them with next year's lineup -- unless, of course, EAD 4 was expected to churn out another Mario game every few months! Then they'd be able to release up to four brand new Mario games in 2015!

Every month that goes by without a major release in 2015 will just be a example of Nintendo being foolish. I can understand a game like Xenoblade Chronicles  X or the new Zelda taking time, but Mario Maker and Mario Party 10 are simple, easy-to-produce games that should be ready for Q1. Those are easy stop-gap fillers, or would be if Nintendo grasped the damage that droughts cause.
