Forums - Nintendo - Bloomberg: Nintendo Heads for Best Holiday in Years as Profit Seen Tripling!

The Gamecube Adapter is selling for 90USD in my country :(

So, to reach $1 Billion sales for Amiibo means over 75 Million Amiibos sold in US alone. Do you guys think this is realistic?

In other words every Wii U and 3DS owner in America would have to buy 4 to 5 Amiibos. I think this is hugely unrealistic within the launch period.

I haven't seen anyone confirm that estimate except that one report (which has been repeated by many other sites).

The $1 billion in sales from amiibo is an inaccuracy. In a recent Bloomberg article from November, Reggie is quoted as estimating that the entire "toys-to-life" category, including Skylanders, Amiibo, and Disney Infinity, could generate as much as $1 billion in revenue.

The article in the OP is inaccurate.

Here is the link from a prior article, where the proper context of the "$1 billion" quote originated from:

"Super Smash Bros. is the first Nintendo title that will also support Amiibo, the interactive figurines that the company is also introducing for the holidays. Amiibo will compete with Activision’s Skylanders franchise and Walt Disney Co.’s Infinity in a category Nintendo calls “toys-to-life.”

Such interactive toys are set to pull in about $1 billion in sales this year in the U.S., according to Fils-Aimes. The ability to use Nintendo’s figurines in multiple games may draw fans to the $12.99 Amiibo figures, which will later be brought to the 3DS handheld console, he said."

That makes a lot more sense. I'm sure Amiibos will sell but thinking they can make one billion off one holiday in the US is crazy.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

$1B from Amiibos? That math seems off for me. Wouldn't that mean that 100 MILLION amiibos will have to be sold assuming they make $10 per amiibo, and that's being VERY generous

i made a thread and a prediction on it actually. Having amiibo cards for pokemon with mega evolutions on it (maybe like $3.99 per card or 3 card pack for $9.99) would be great!

It would also be a N3DS seller!!!
