As many are aware, XP is no longer supported. As a result, vendors have really stepped up support for Windows 7. In fact, without future updates I would recommend anyone who uses XP at their business to consider upgrading to windows 7.

Audit your processes, contact your vendors and determine which systems can be upgraded to 7. Create a test system and run your apps in a test environment before you deploy and be mindful of the costs associated with renewing or obtaining licenses for Windows and you vendor software. If you can do all of that, there is no reason to be using XP especially when the lack of support opens your system up to security

Win8.1/8 reached almost 19% marketshare all of a sudden,it was unexpected and windows 8.1/8 were doomed especially after win10 announcement!

However they had the biggest growth ever bigger than win 7 for the first time!Had MS to announce win 10 later and give one more chance to win8.1/8?win8.1/8 will absorb winxp share and may reach 30% share, which is a success!I wouldn't be surprised if ms delay win 7...!As I said this news are good for pcs, they may skyrocket this quarter.!

Win 8 has an awful reputation, but 8.1 is actually pretty good in my opinion.

They cut its life short and cancelled promised updates. As a user of windows 8. I am not happy. Windows 10 has to be a free upgrade.

Speculation so far

"It looks like we'll have to wait for April's Build event for more information regarding price and official release date. "

Do you even read? Stop spreading false information.

Oh sorry don't get mad!:(

It should be a free upgrade. The rumors about it being free are logical, I don't blame you for believing them. But you never know with MS.

HHAAHHHHAHAHAAHAH!It can afford a free upgrade but now that win 8.1/8 all of a sudden growth may change its intentions.!If win8.1 absorb all or the biggest part of winxp share it will reach 30%,that's 510m users,i don't know if ms would want do it given that!

Ms has been forced to announced win10 because win 8 were falling but  unexpectedely skyrocketed in oct-nov.                                                                               Ms was thinking that the share of win8.1/8 would stay flat or fall significantly but it is being refuted,xp users finally jump to win8.1/8!They bizzare is that a persistent 6% of windows8 users don't move to the update lol,ms should install it automatically.:P
