Forums - Nintendo - Tons of new Zelda U shown at Game Awards! What did you think?

It looked nice animation wise especially on the horses but the world looked pretty empty/dull. The slow mo gyro shooting looked cool.

I guess the Skyward Sword controls got the axe, which I'm ok with (weren't accurate enough).

We saw a tiny screen, but it looks like one of the most ridiculously pretty games ever.

But I think that the whole "the horse moves by itself" will cause TONS OF BITCHING.

Why?  It's an inteligent being.

Makes sense.  You just basically tap forward or backwards to increase or slow down the speed, much like in real life.  You stear obviously if you want to, but otherwise it shoudl run in the general direction you have it running without running into a wall or a tree.  Meanwhile you can worry about fighting or looking at map or messing with inventory or whatever.

I'm glad the horse isn't 100% player controlled.

I know, and I like it. I think SotC had something similar, because I swear Aggro would avoid shit during the 10th colossus.

But you know the internet. "Dumbing down" is an expression we'll hear a lot over this mechanic.

Someone get Youtube in here once it's available. I haven't been watching the awards, can't really patch in now.

Hard to judge off-screen. Wish it had been direct feed.

I agree with others saying the world looks empty. They were just passing through a few areas though, and of course showed what they wanted to show. When they decided to show combat, they found some enemies. Could've just been editing out enemy encounters to avoid showing much.

The horse-jump slow-motion is pretty funny.

Also this game makes my dick rock hard and I want it yesterday.

Why does it feel different?

I would guess there will be plenty in the world.  Pretty sure Nintendo acknowledge in Twilight Princess that the world was too big and empty.

Doubt they would do the same mistake again so soon.  Though i should say I don't want it too packed.  talk about immersion loss by having 10 enemies every 100 feet.  I want enemies in places that make sense, not just randomly tossed around every so often to fill the world.  Make random enemies strongholds that have no point other than being an enemy stronghold.  and other things that can be place that make the world seem real and full rather than just cluttered.

Weren't you the one criticizing FF for being empty on that trailer?

OT: I think the game looks great. It's also cool that the world is big. We just need to see what's in this big world.

Hardly worth thanking a 360p video.  But better than nothing.

The slow mo jump was kinda weird though it looks more like Link is floating in mid-air more than it being in slow mo.

Not a fan of the noise for the arrows. Makes me think my arrow hit a shield or something.
