That's a bit simplistic. Let's take Titanfall and TR as an example for why this is different. Titanfall was equally immensely popular on both sides(it's a shooter with mechs after all) yet it was made exclusive, apparently without even the knowing of the devs. --> Fan outrage TR has its biggest audience on Playstation yet was made exclusive on the opposite platform. --> bigger fan outrage SF has its vast majority of fans already on Playstation. Comparing the sales, SF was almost niche on Xbox. Making it exclusive to PS4 and PC will hurt the least amount of people. -> very minor outrage
But yeah, some fans will be pissed. As in 3 or so. |
Niche is a bit of a stretch. But I see where you're coming from.

Furthermore Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced as a multiplat and then became "exclusive" whereas Street Fighter V was announced as an exclusive and never promised to be released on Xbox One.

Not as much as on PS but not many is just wrong.

TBH Japanese games that tend to do well will get preference for PS4. Bigger install base, better sales in Japan and exclusive marketing is tempting for Japanese develoeprs. I think this will be a trend. If you love Japanese games and own Xbox consoles then I fear you have to face this several times in this gen.
Consider me shocked. The game sells better on PS, but the competitive community was largely on 360 for SF4. I'm sure PS4 will get most of the cake but hope much of it migrates to PC now. Bad online was the only thing cripping SF4 PC, despite it being the best version in every other aspect.
