Your statement is partially inaccurate, since I kind of feel that Nintendo has a stigma attached to it's being "kid-friendly." Kids want to be seen as "mature," after all. So, Nintendo's consumers are largely their own fans.

(They're letting me down with there not being a Wii U Fire Emblem, though.)

console Wars exists becuase of 2 reasons

1) People are budget constrained

2) consoles are Format constrained

1 + 2 = Console Wars

Its more that not having one is like not having anything that falls under/relates to Disney's media empire - such as Star-Wars and Marvel, or Dreamworks and Pixar. 

 

 

For alot of people that'd can look like a life without whimsy or hope.
