I'm very curious about this game. Does this game play like Skyrim or Demon Souls?

This is my first Dragon Age game and while there are elements of skyrim/oblivion ie trekking around forest, mountain areas and caves to explore and beautiful vistas. It feels a bit like Monster hunter/dragon's dogma (especially when you fight dragons) mixed in with mass effects battling/menu system.  The levelling up system has great depth and you can actually gimp your character if you are not careful.

While I am sinking huuuge hours into this game there are too many glitches that stops this from getting GOTY but I am playing on xbone.  Difficulty is quite hard, even on normal difficulty I am getting my ass kicked in some areas.  Also the equipment/inventory screen is cumbersome much like MASS EFFECT's which I found tedious.

Other thing I found bizarre is nearly all the female characters are IMO ugly so romance choices seem pretty slim for them while one female you can only romance if you choose to be a female character... while the romancing the guys are kinda hot since they are more interesting looking than the females....

Thanks for taking the time to explain.  Sound like a good game until better games comes over.

Sorry, I don't understand. Demons souls and dark souls are horrible games, sorry.

Don't forget to get the full guide for Dark Souls like you did with Demon's Souls. I hear killing the very purpose of a game before playing it is tons of fun , even worse than quitting DA after 5 hours

Sorry, but any game that "forces" you to repeat the same exact content over and over again without any differences is a stupid game. That's that.

Oh btw, I told ya'll.. Dragon Age: Inquisition is the Game of The Year :)

This game was awful. I was so hyped for it, and was so let down. I forced myself to play to the end of act 1. Sold it off, got Far Cry 4. So much better. No, DAI is not the game of the year...

Well there's your problem. You only played the smallest part of the game. The game opens up to extreme lengths after that first part is over.

Seriously, you have to try playing through a significant part of the game before passing judgment.

Be fair. If a game doesn't grab you by the end of act 1 it is fair enough to trade it in and get something else. It took me a little while to warm into DA I but certainly a hello lot less time than the whole of Act 1.

Fantastic to see this win THE GOTY, if it can be called that. But I don't see it winning most of the reviewer GOTYs will be interesting to see how thing shake out.

It will. Dragon Age got really high ratings across the board with a few idiots giving it disgusting scores, thus lowering the meta. I'm sure it's gonna get the larger GOTY awards as well.

Meta should implement a robust reputation system for voters, because as it actually is I prefer  to rely on word-of-mouth, gameplay videos and a few reviewers I know I can trust, and, very often, waiting some time to see if a game is a fad or it 's becoming a classic, to decide if a game is worth my money.
Obviously reviews and word-of-mouth alone aren't definitive, but I read the reasons why a game was given a high or low scores and that can tell me if it's a game for me (it can happen that I like a thing that the reviewer hates, but reliable reviewers will cite them, so they can help also people that don't share their tastes).

Dang right it is. Beat a Dragon, really proud of myself, I mean easily ran out of potions and was mainly running around reviving people but still.

Then on another mission I actually though the idea of the mission was to kill the dragon, it wasn't but I killed another one. What made me sad though was I got some great gear from the first kill. The second? Nothing good at all (I mean I got this but no cool rare armour or weapons :( ). And maybe I've jsut fought the wrong ones but so far both used electric attacks.

Hmm, pie.

So I've been making some progress. The world opened up a bit but not as much as I hoped. I really hoped they would go beyond Ferelden and Orlais.

I'm very thankful for the additional skill tree for every character.

I will also retract my statement that the characters are flat. All of them got a good chunk of development. Still not liking the voice acting though.

I got a big problem though. I was totally shooting for Leliana. Then Morrigan showed up and I was suddenly caught in a triangle. Leliana is just perfect for my character but Morrigan is Morrigan.

Then I looked up the romance options and found out that neither of them even is an option. So that's a really big bummer. I'll have to go with Josephine now but I think it will be very awkward because she'll probably notice that she's just 3rd choice.

The game is so massive and you're telling me expanding the romance options to all of the main cast was suddenly too much?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I was hoping for Orlais in this game, sticking to the areas like this is still good and allows characters we know to enter the game as NPCs. This said I'd like a new game that goes to Anderfels (Grey Warden area) or Tervinter/Antiva/Rivain areas, mainly because of the nations there and the whole Tevinter and Qunari war (hopefully in 2 years, they have an engine and gameplay down, so reason why can't).

You may be, I've yet to unlock the skill tree of my main character, sure I've got enough to unlock one but the one I want I just can't get (dang assassins)

Hmm, pie.
