I'm not at the point yet where the game supposedly opens up. I really do hope that they expand the skill trees as well at that point because only 4 tiny trees when each character usually can only really profit from two of them is pretty lackluster for an RPG.

You still wandering around The Hinterlands? Get out of there. The amount of stuff you can do will draw you in, there is more to do and far more areas to open up. And on the latter, yes to a degree.

It's how I play. I won't advance in an open world game unless I've completed everything I can without advancing. I don't blame the game for my behavior and I'm still having fun^^

I'm finished with the Hinterlands for now, there are only 2 quests left I can't complete right now so I moved up to the barrows. Not far right now from my next mandatory story advancement.

So are you saying the skill trees stay what they are or will they be expanded?

This game was awful. I was so hyped for it, and was so let down. I forced myself to play to the end of act 1. Sold it off, got Far Cry 4. So much better. No, DAI is not the game of the year...

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Ah, a completist. I'm not so much, I know some missions will always be filler. I also struggled with one of the Rifts early on so leveled up and went back there later to do it. There is a lot to explore though.

From what I have played, my main character can learn up to 3 new ones (or 1 of 3 not sure as not completed them), and each party member has their own specialisation related to class but I'm not explored it that much.

Hmm, pie.

Fan of DA:O maybe?

I'm not as much a completionist as you think. I just want to see everything a game has to offer.
DAI gives me another incentive though with its painfully slow progress especially at the start. but I guess it has to be slow so that you're not finished skilling after 5% of the game.

I just hope it will have lots of other stuff for me to progress or I will lose interest really really fast after I completed leveling.

I'm very curious about this game. Does this game play like Skyrim or Demon Souls?

This is my first Dragon Age game and while there are elements of skyrim/oblivion ie trekking around forest, mountain areas and caves to explore and beautiful vistas. It feels a bit like Monster hunter/dragon's dogma (especially when you fight dragons) mixed in with mass effects battling/menu system.  The levelling up system has great depth and you can actually gimp your character if you are not careful.

While I am sinking huuuge hours into this game there are too many glitches that stops this from getting GOTY but I am playing on xbone.  Difficulty is quite hard, even on normal difficulty I am getting my ass kicked in some areas.  Also the equipment/inventory screen is cumbersome much like MASS EFFECT's which I found tedious.

Other thing I found bizarre is nearly all the female characters are IMO ugly so romance choices seem pretty slim for them while one female you can only romance if you choose to be a female character... while the romancing the guys are kinda hot since they are more interesting looking than the females....

I bought this on Black Friday but haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it looks REALLY good and I can't wait until I get around to it!

I've got to ask though... I've only played Dragon Age: Origins, and not Dragon Age II, is there any part of the story or any references made to the second game, that I won't understand if I haven't played it? ...without any spoilers if possible.

I would say at least one play through of Dragon Age 2 is essential. The whole of what Dragon Age: Inquisition is about is as a direct result of what happens in Dragon Age 2. As bad as a lot of people claim it is (I disagree, I liked it a lot and played it through entirely 4 taimes) the story and characters are very good, as long as you can overlook repetitive environments (not like DA2 is the only game to suffer form this) and enemy waves. If you're interested in the world of Dragon Age you can't miss DA2. But if you just want to play a decent WRPG then I guess you can skip it and go straight to DA:I.

Dragon Age: Origins, by contrast is more or less an historical curiosity in terms of its direct impact on DA:I.

I really hope this game is sufficiently successful that a 4th game, involving time spent in Tevinter, is guaranteed. I have to say Dragon Age is the only fantasy WRPG that I rate as being any good from among those I've played since the beginning of the 7th gen. I haven't played The Witcher yet, but I found Elder Scrolls to be highly disappointing, and Diablo III was OK but quite a let down. Even though I played the whole of Diablo III in local co-op with my son, which was fun in that respect, in all other respects the game didn't connect with me as well as I'd hoped. I fell for the trap of both games having generally good word of mouth, and that they fit into the broad category of fantasy WRPG, which is one of my favoured genres. Technically Demon's Souls is considered a JRPG so while I would rate that above Drgaon Age, as they live in different sub-genres I get to name both of them as favourites.

You must not be that far in the game. Origins has just as much if not more of an impact on the story in inquisition as da2...

Well there's your problem. You only played the smallest part of the game. The game opens up to extreme lengths after that first part is over.

Seriously, you have to try playing through a significant part of the game before passing judgment.

It has some flaws, theres a lot of filler missions and content there just for the sake of beeing there, with no depth at all, and quite a few bugs. However I dont think that detracts from the fun and the game is massive has lots of meaningfull choices, awesome characters, interesting main story and companions subplots and fighting dragons is the best thing in a RPG ever, they nailed those High Dragon battles.

Its definetly the game of the year I dont think anything else has even came close to DA Inquisition.

Sorry, I don't understand. Demons souls and dark souls are horrible games, sorry.

Don't forget to get the full guide for Dark Souls like you did with Demon's Souls. I hear killing the very purpose of a game before playing it is tons of fun , even worse than quitting DA after 5 hours
