Forums - Nintendo - Smash for Wii U has potentietly has a system breaking bug!!!*Update* seems to be a factory error with your Wii U system and not caused by Smash.

This bug is supposed to originate from the update file. So there is no guarantee that the next Zelda won't have a system breaking bug.

You are just being a scaredy cat . Buy the game and contribute to lord Iwata.

That Iwata fella is a duck. He keeps delaying games and developing ones nobody cares.

PS: I might get it at christams, maybe even MK8 (ughhhh)

When users reported the error code to Nintendo, a Nintendo representative told them to reformat their Wii U, which in turn caused their Wii U to brick. People reported that Nintendo first told them that it would cost 100 dollars to fix, but are now accepting these bricked Wii U's to get them 'fixed', or rather replaced for free.

almost every major game released at the end of this year has been plagued in a bad way. Nintendo has joined the fray i guess

Huh, I wonder how wide spread this issue really is and hopefully, they will patch it asap

Guys. This is one small ass issue that will most likely be fixed very shortly. This is not a reason to not buy Smash and this is certainly not as bad as the issues MCC or AC are having. I think everyone is blowing this way out of proportion. We don't even know if it's widespread!

Wait, I don't get it. How is this not as bad? I bought Halo and was quite disappointed that the online was broken but I could just put it away till it got patched and played something else. Here in this case, some people are getting bricked consoles preventing them from playing anything on their Wii U. Regardless of how widespread it is, things like this should never happen.

I know for certain I will be waiting for a patch to come out before I touch Smash.

Well its simple. Nintendo are on their own this gen so they rushing games to keep the system selling somewhat lol.

They need more studios and more games in the pipeline so that games are not rushed.

On a side note they still havent released a fix for the mario kart 8 bug which prevents me form uploading to youtube.

Rushed? Nintendo games, especially Smash Bros and it's 6 year break from Brawl, are anything but rushed.

Except they made KI:U in between and then had to bring on Bamco to get the game out quicker.

Not saying it was all they did, but the game was in no way rushed.

Damn, my 2 year warranty expired 2 days ago...

But I have the digital version on an external drive.

If that error occurs to you: don't format the system memory!

EDIT: the error isn't Smash specific, it's a save game error that can happen with other games, too.

1.) It's not widespread, as far as we know. This does matter, even if you would like to think it doesn't.

2.) It only occurs if you attempt to delete something. Don't touch anything and nothing will happen.

3.) It seems to be only happening if you play online. If you're really that concerned, don't play online until it's fixed.

4.) Nintendo is fixing everything for free and is looking for a solution to the problem.

Conclusion: Don't try and fix the error yourself and nothing will happen. Does that scare you that much?

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Seems pretty isolated. I and many of my friends have been playing the hell out of it with no issues. I have the downloaded version, they all have physical discs.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
