When users reported the error code to Nintendo, a Nintendo representative told them to reformat their Wii U, which in turn caused their Wii U to brick. People reported that Nintendo first told them that it would cost 100 dollars to fix, but are now accepting these bricked Wii U's to get them 'fixed', or rather replaced for free.
