I'm still surprises none of the big 3 have come forward bragging about the numbers. They should have some BF numbers by now.

Aaron Greenburg already bragged about Black Friday, though he did not provide any numbers. As for Sony, they might just wait until December 6 to share the news.

@Aura

But is it common to not release numbers after BF in prior years?, I don't really remember. I have a feeling xbox one outsell ps4 but none of them sold gangbusters.

Yeah, usually either company will give their PR after BF. However, Microsoft has been surprisingly quiet since Greenburg's tweets and Sony, at least, has a reason to not say anything yet.

To be fair it just ended.  It's only Monday.

I guess I don't understand the big deal if X1 wins one NPD. People act like its a big deal but its one market...they're still getting killed in total sales.

That one market is the biggest.  So, yeah, it does matter.

Still waiting for some data to come in but at the moment it is looking like both PS4 and Xbox One are over 1m units worldwide for the week with the PS4 taking a slight lead.

Winning the world with doing absolutely nothing to even compete(PS4) > Doing good for a short period of time with throwing everything out for free in a two places you are expected to dominate.(X1 in the USA and UK)

This is far bigger achievement that Sony edged them out at the end easily
And why?Cause of Worldwide again
The USA alone isn't important enough if you struggle everywhere else.At the end it is the big picture which matters.

NPD doesn't matter shit especially in times like these where those 2 put so much different effort into selling their product.
You can't compare what Sony does(nothing) for the PS4 to what Microsoft started with the beginning of November.
Still Sony wins - They don't care for a few NPDs here and there if they win every single week worldwide.

So what does winning the biggest market do if you still lose out overall?
The USA as a standalone isn't big enough against the whole World.

Does it really though? If you win one market and your competition still sells really well in that market and dominates on total sales what exactly are you winning. I would say the only reason you think it matters so much is because of how badly the X1 has been losing. I just don't see winning any one market being important if the competition still wins total sales. Last generation the 360 clearly won the US and is still in last place in sales behind the Wii and the PS3. Unless it wins by enough to put it on top in total sales for the week it doesn't matter.

"Globally in the US!"

So of course winning the USA is important. Its the only thing that matters. Sorry UK. ;)
