Forums - Nintendo - Samus amiibo manages to open Moscow Metro ticket gate

I'm curious to know what compelled them to stick a Samus amiibo against a Moscow metro ticket gate to see if it works... That's an incredibly specific way to pass the time :p

I guess they might have been tempted to try it because that sensor field is round and looks like roughly the same diameter as the base of the amiibo

edit:

btw, according to the gaf thread it doesn't actually work, it just flashes green but turns red when they try to pass the gate

METRO-ID!I m wondering what's the explanation for this...

the green signal is probably just given out too quickly, like at the point of an NFC signal being detected instead of at the point when the ticket is verified

as I edited into my earlier post, they can't actually use it to pass the gate, it just flashes green and turns red within a second

I wonder if it works here in the states...

Lol, did the guy just stand there holding the line up while he tested every single thing he owned to see if it would work?

I was about to say Metroi-ID, but I knew people would beat me to the punch. :)

Incoming Samus Amiibo sells millions of units in Russia. It will outsell all other Amiibos combined.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Hmm.. I wonder if this works with Bucharest Metro ticket gates!
