Is that worse than selling 2.5 million copies of Pokemon based on nostalgia? I don't think so. And consumers speak with their wallet.

Maybe because it's such a great game ?
Maybe because FPS mode does change the gameplay a lot ?
Maybe because some people didn't play it last year ?
Maybe because it's an amazing gift to buy for the holdays ?
Maybe because they are not yet lots of great games on the new-gen systems ?

See, there are reasons for those millions sales.

well my thoughts are that these comments coming from nintendo gamers are ironic

advancements such as 30 player lobbies, a vastly improved character creation system, new vehicles, first person mode, more detail in the environments etc imo make it worthwhile

I can honestly say I missed GTA V and Last of Us in the previous gen because I knew the new consoles were coming and I had a feeling I'd be more interested in other games. I rarely buy games day one, usually I just wait till it's about $40 or lower. By the time it went down in price, the consoles were pretty much here and we got news about the ports. So if I did it, I'm willing to bet there are other people like me who did the same thing.

On here especially, I've noticed Nintendo fans get really up and arms over this, "releasing last gen games on current gen." I don't understand why when Nintendo release Zelda, Pokemon, and a slew of other remasters as well.

People buy what they want to buy. If someone wants to buy a newer version of a game, it's their decision on whether it's worth the money. I never bought it on PS3 or Xbox 360 so I'm just waiting for it to come out on PC.

Nailed it. I waited for GTA 5, The Last of Us, and now Dark Souls 2 :) Why buy something early when a new and improved version will come out a year later? It should be common knowledge that many studios do this considering the transition into Gen 7 from Gen 6
