Forums - Gaming - Kmart near my house does not sell Wii U or Vita products anymore- Smash was too little too late?

Wii U took 2 years 2 sell 7 million.
XB1 took 1.
PS4 sold 15 million in a year.

It's not surprising that Wii U isn't getting shelf space at retail. Vita isn't a surprise either although I wonder if PS TV is stocked? That's a new release.

Anyway the K-mart near me has a pathetic video game section. It barely gets updated and its hidden a corner. Maybe K-mart doesn't get many gamers?

The last time I went to the Kmart near me, the place looked kinda depressing, their video game department was lonely and filled with old stuff.

Video games are probably niche compared to televisions, tablets, and phones.

That might be a dumb question, but what the fuck is Kmart? This is the first time I've heard about them!

Not only that, video games are going digital.

An old store chain. Like walmart but not as successful.

Well, the rest of the Electronics department was also kinda depressing. Target, Walmart, Best Buy, they all have up-to-date stuff with posters of upcoming games, flyers, and clean sections of each console manufacturer. Kmart...not as much. I know of 2 Kmarts around my area, one of them got closed down, and this other one is looking like it could crack at any minute.

Can't they at least keep up to date with gaming to know when to stock Nintendo stuff? You'd think that was common sense, right?
