Yes but not a huge fail, hence why that is listed #9

Im sorry, but not selling out to a big company is not a fail in any way...

They could have 25 bn in the bank now dude plus whatever else they made by this point. I'm hella glad they didn't cuz I'd hate to see Mario on XBOX but still they passed it up

What are you talking about? Microsoft would have all of Nintendo's money, because they would own Nintendo.

How exactly is the Wii U a bigger failure than the Virtual Boy? The Virtual Boy didn't even last a year on store shelves.

Well it didn't make Nintendo post losses.  Wasn't a main console either like Wii U is.

Few key things you're forgetting is that when the Virtual Boy came out, Nintendo was stronger than it had been now.  Add to this that Virtual Boy was such a big failure, the game was barely even out in the market before they took it off the shelf.  If the Wii U was actually a bigger failure, the Wii U would have been taken off the market.  On top of that, the Virtual Boy had a lot of undebateable weaknesses with its hardware (such as some of the ones others have mentioned and also red being the only color it can display).  The Virtual Boy is rarely even brought up with Nintendo because of how bad it went.  So how is the Wii U really any competition for being one of Nintendo's biggest failures?
