3) Still on that subject, we have the major clusterfuck that was AC Unity. Now this one deserves all the backlash, the game is downright BROKEN. But that's ONE GAME. I think that this year have showed us that we see the big AAA titles as a termometer for the whole year. This year, the big names disappointed, so the whole year was crucified. Last year, we had The Last of Us, Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite (and AC4), so the whole year was praised. But what about the other games? On that...

You can add Driveclub and MCC to that list.

MCC? I heard you couldn't connect to the servers, but you still got 4 full campaigns... Yes, I'm aware that multiplayer is Halo's biggest appeal, but stil... Though I don't know if Halo's campaigns have any appeal or if MCC had any issue with single-player as well.

Well, I guess I did. But 2012 wasn't a BAD year either...

Can you name a year between 2007 and 2014 that was worse?

2014 as a whole certainly hasn't been the best year for gaming... I blame the bugs and over-hyped games, but overall this year hasn't been horrible. It also doesn't help that 2013 was a really strong year for games, so naturally 2014 will look worst based on what we saw last year.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

2014 is/was fine, but the expectations were too high. Some highly anticipated games got delayed like the Witcher 3 and Project Cars didn't help either. For me, it has been an average year, I enjoyed games like Infamous and Dragon Age. No great games, only good ones.

Next year is going to be much better, I'm highly anticipating Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, those alone are enough to make 2015 a great year.

Transistor, and Smash 4 came out this year, the "2014 sucks" argument is completely invalid.

I'm now filled with determination.

I enjoyed 2014, I don't get where all the MASSIVE hate comes from.

South Park the Stick of Truth, Infamous SS, First Light, Child of Light, Rayman Legends, Forza Horizons 2, Sunset Overdrive, Last of Us R, Pokemon, MK8, Smash, DA I, DK, Bayonetta 2. While I didn't play all those games, most were extremely fun and well worth it.

Was it the best gaming year? IMO, no, but I don't think it was the worst. I think it's the worst gaming year if you had too high of standards for Watch Dogs, and Destiny. After Watch Dogs got delayed... the first time, I wasn't that interested in it. I think a lot of people need to lower their expectations for these games. Destiny for me was a game where it fell victim to the hype. I played the demo and I did enjoy it, but I never picked it up. I saw that the game lacked a lot of content, so I have decided to wait. Lesson to be learned, don't fall for the hype.

Rayman Legends was last year bruh

Doesn't matter, half the game is broken.  Just because the single player works that is no excuse for them shipping the game with a broken multiplayer.

True. If you ignore all the over-hype for games such as Watch Dogs and Destiny, it was a pretty decent year!

Especially if you're a Nintendo fan! I'm still busy with Bayonetta 2, the MK8 DLC, and now Smash Bros! Then Captain Toad in December :D

2014 has been one of the best gaming year in a while, especially for Xbox owners.
Almost all the genres were covered with excellent games from Q2-Q4.

FPS: COD:AW/ TMCC/ Titanfall

Racing: Forza Horizon 2

TPS: GTA 5

Platformer: Sunset Overdrive

RPG: Dragon Age/ S.Mordor/

Sports: Fifa15/ PES15

I hope we have more bad years like this.
