"In the video game industry, a first-party developer is part of a company which manufactures a video game console and develops exclusively for it. First-party developers may use the name of the company itself (such as Nintendo), have a specific division name (such as Sony's Polyphony Digital) or have been an independent studio before being acquired by the console manufacturer (such as Rare or Naughty Dog).[5]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_developer#First-party_developer

Retro are a Nintendo studio, they are first party.

They develop first party games in the sense that the games are available only for one system, but they are not first party. Quote Wikipedia all you want, it won't make Rare 1st party, to Nintendo or Microsoft.

You can deny it all you want, they are a Nintendo first party studio, this common knowledge. Nintendo is the first party since they make the console, and Retro is part of Nintendo.

You can deny it all you want, but you're denying the common understanding of what a second party developer is. Here's a way for you to understand: Imagine someone tried to buy Retro, what would happen? Nintendo would go on being Nintendo, the other company would have a new studio. Now imagine that someone tried to buy Nintendo EAD. What would happen? They'd have to buy all of Nintendo to get it, that's what would happen. You're confusing first party publishing with first party development. A first party developer is a developer who develops for their own platform. A first party publisher publishes for their own platform. A second party developer develops for the platform of whoever owns them or whoever they contracted with.

What you need to realize is that there's a distinction between first and second party studios. Not everybody makes that distinction apparently, but there is a distinction to be made between a developer that starts independent and is bought by a 1st party but exists as a separate entity, and a developer that is literally integrated into the company, like Nintendo EAD.

What you also need to realize is that I'll never agree with you, so you may as well stop responding if you're gonna keep giving me this crap.

I have played way too much smash for my own good so by default smash u.

"On May 2, 2002, Nintendo secured $1 million worth of Retro Studios stock from Spangenberg, and reclassified the company as a first party developer and division of Nintendo."

If you want an example of a Nintendo second party developer, then the answer you are looking for is Game Freak.  Retro is clearly first party, and this is disputed by no one.
